Russian-American Medical Association (R-AMA) was created to facilitate and enable Russian American physicians and other health care professionals to excel in patient care, teaching and research, and to pursue their aspirations in professional, humanitarian and community affairs. Any individual who is a lawful resident of the United States or Canada, who supports the purposes of the organization and who pays their dues can become a member of R-AMA.

American Medical Association As the national professional organization for all physicians, the American Medical Association (AMA) serves as the steward of medicine and leader of the medical profession. The AMA’s envisioned future is to be an essential part of the professional life of every physician and an essential force for progress in improving the nation’s health. Membership in the AMA is open to: Medical students enrolled in a Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited program; Resident physicians who are attending an accredited residency or fellowship program in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam or the Virgin Islands; Physicians who have earned their doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy degree and are residing and practicing in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam or the Virgin Islands.

American College of Physicians (ACP) is the nation's largest medical specialty society. Its mission is to enhance the quality and effectiveness of health care by fostering excellence and professionalism in the practice of medicine. ACP membership includes about 116,000 members, including medical students. Members are physicians in general internal medicine and related subspecialties, including cardiology, gastroenterology, nephrology, endocrinology, hematology, rheumatology, neurology, pulmonary disease, oncology, infectious diseases, allergy and immunology, and geriatrics.

American Academy of Family Physicians is the national association of family doctors. It is one of the largest national medical organizations, with more than 94,000 members in 50 states, D.C., Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Guam. The Academy maintains a national headquarters in Leawood, Kansas. It publishes a clinical journal for physicians in primary care entitled American Family Physician, with a circulation of 156,000; a monthly all-member news and features publication entitled FPReport; and a publication on practice management and socioeconomic issues entitled Family Practice Management.

American College of Emergency Physicians was founded in 1968. Today ACEP represents more than 22,000 members and is the emergency medicine specialty society recognized by organized medicine. They have 53 chapters to represent you at the local level, plus 25 sections of membership to represent your special interests.

American Board of Hospital Physicians is an independent professional organization in the United States of America constituting a union of outstanding physicians joined in an organization to affirm, promote, and promulgate the highest standard of medical care and medical service, research, education, and the establishment of the highest level of honor, excellence, integrity, and dedication to Medicine and to all of Humanity.

Physicians for a National Health Program is a not-for-profit organization of physicians, medical students, and other health care professionals that support a national health insurance (NHI) program. PNHP members have addressed hundreds of grand rounds and conferences, testified before dozens of federal and state legislative committees, spearheaded single-payer efforts in several states, and worked extensively with the media and local community groups to educate the public. Members receive quarterly newsletter, have access to PNHP slide sets and other resource materials, and are invited to participate in policy-setting national meetings and to be involved in our over two dozen local chapters.

American College of International Physicians is organized exclusively for educational, scientific, research and charitable purposes. The college provides representation on national and local levels helping to ensure that International Medical Graduates (IMGs) are provided the same rights and opportunities in their profession as afforded to U.S. medical graduates. ACIP provides access to a national network of IMGs who can provide assistance in solving local practice problems such as initiation of legislative efforts, class-action litigation and case-specific advocacy with hospitals, licensing bodies, federal, state, and municipal agencies. ACIP conducts local, state, and national meetings which provide an excellent opportunity for networking with specialists from all areas of medicine and, thus, enhances individual practices by stimulating referrals. ACIP provides continuing medical education credits at the meetings also.
